The aim of the article is to present the image of local government in the his-tory of Poland in the 20th century, in terms of the latest school history textbooks. For the purpose of the analysis, eight studies have been selected, which since September 2012 have been taught in Polish secondary schools. The image of the title issue emerging from the analysis indicates that the marginal treatment of the role and signifi cance of local government in relation to the period of the Second Republic of Poland is clearly visible.
